check it out, its not much for the eyes, but its definitely a good blog.

Brought up a good point too that I hadn’t thought about (believe it or not, it happens a lot)

“Another observation I made was that Phil Jackson has never coached a team with this much youth this late into the season. Even those Bulls teams had plenty of older, P.J. Brown types to help right the ship and act as calming influences. This team is still extremely green (no pun intended) and are not yet deserving of all of Phil’s trust. They came up big in the 4th quarter, but in reality, Jackson only seems comfortable playing his starting 5. I think he gets the cold shakes every time Luke Walton has to try and guard KG. Although the Lakers have been super-efficient until now, perhaps all the media pundits, myself included, overlooked their extreme youth. Boston is much more a traditional Phil Jackson team. And Doc Rivers is proving it.”

Thats all, I put a lot of emphasis into how much PJ had the matchup dominated, but this is a great point.

Lack of a clever title: Thoughts from a bored Monday Night

Well, seeing as how I am now a fully naturalized citizen (sworn in on a picture of Will Leitch) of the blogging community I have been descending deeper and deeper into the bowels of the blogging monster that is out there on the world wide web. A couple of my favorites are in the links section, but that no where near resembles the amount of solid, in depth, well thought out, well written, and most of the time hilarious blogs that there are out there.

The Series to end all Series: NBA FINALS 2008, Lakers-Celtics Preview and Pick

The NBA Finals kicks off tonight at 6 pm for those of us on the West Coast. I guess you could say that this is the absolute latest time I could do a preview for this game, but heck, I decided instead of taking a nap I would put some of this free time to good use.

We are now fast approaching the matchup we have all (supposedly) been waiting for. But, ever since the huge trade/series of trades that brought ring-less superstars KG and Ray Allen to Boston up through the beginning of the season when Kobe, Bynum, and the rest of the Lakers came storming out of gates and even up until Pau came over in the Infamous Memphis Plundering of Oh ‘8 (also known as the Kupchak Miracle) we have been hearing about the possibility of a Lakers Celtics final series matchup. Now that it has happened, no surprise, ESPN and all our friends in the sports media have jumped on it and in true ESPN fashion, have not stopped talking about it, discussing it, analyzing it, and building it up since it was official.

Anyways, now that we are here, it seems only fitting that I take a little swing at previewing/analyzing this monumental, historical, David Stern wet dream of a Finals Series. Follow me after the J-U-M-P…

End of an Era (Start of Something New! and Wonderful?)

So, I wanted my first legitimate post to be a mock draft talking about my boy OJ Mayo and where he was going, but seeing as how the draft lottery was ages ago, and the actual draft isn’t for a while. That doesn’t seem so relevant anymore (though I am still working on a mock draft) and also was probably going to end up being just another reason to procrastinate or deterrent to me actually starting this thing off. After watching Detroit go down, a few thoughts/memories flashed through my mind and I decide to put pen to paper or I guess in this case finger to keyboard and get something done during a summer that started off wonderfully relaxing, but is unfortunately slipping into couch potato territory.

Anyways, in the past two days we’ve seen probably the two great franchises in the NBA go down. In sports, we often like to look at trends and swings in the league hoping to see something that allows us to predict the way the league is going to play out. Tonight it would seem that we are seeing an end to a mini-era/trend. The Spurs and Pistons were two teams that (more…)
